Market Drayton 10k

I am too young to actually enter the 10km road race which is held in our town every year and is called the Market Drayton 10k.  My mum was entered into it, and I was entered into the fun run for ages 10 to 11, here I am with my mum before our races…

My race was a lap and a half of the football pitch, which is a warm up for me at football training.

The Mayor of Market Drayton, Mr Roy Aldcroft, started my race…

I came 3rd in my race and won a trophy, a medal, and some sausage rolls.

Now that I can drive, I have started my own business, “Samuels Breakdown Service”.  Here you can see me helping my dad with the recovery of his VW T4 Transporter called “Daniel”.

My Dad has been restoring this van for some time, and when he recently drove it into the unit to put it away, the gearbox selector linkage broke, which Dad says is a common fault on these old T4’s.  The only gear that could be selected was 3rd, meaning it couldn’t engage reverse and back itself out of the unit it is stored in.

Dad says, since the part to fix it has arrived, we need to reverse it out of the unit, for Dad to sweep the floor to be able to get underneath and fix it.  Here I am providing reverse gear in the tow car.  I have it on the towing strop with “Oskar” the Octavia Scout in reverse, but my Dad controlling the speed using the brakes on “Daniel”.

Wait until I present my “recovery bill” to my Dad.  This will be the grin I will have on my face when I can buy another game for my Nintendo Switch…

Today, the footie team I play for, Market Drayton Tigers, organised a colour run in aid of raising money for The Georgia Williams Trust.  A colour run is where you run around the field, two laps, approximately 2.5 miles, where the marshals throw paint at you.  Here is a colourful gallery of pictures taken by my dad of me and my mum.  I hope that you enjoy them, as I did the run…
